Quantum Accelerator is a launch coaster located in the North End of Six Flags New England.
History
The ride was manufactured by Intamin as the park's "first dual-launch, straddle coaster", replacing the Goliath shuttle coaster. Originally scheduled to open in 2025, the roller coaster's opening was delayed to 2026.[1] The delay was attributed to the need to replace a potentially faulty part that had failed on a similar installation at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Instead of having the ride open too late in the season, it was pushed back to the park's 2026 opening date on April 17th to encourage season pass sales.[2]
Design
The ride is designed with a tire launch system that is designed to be operable in lower temperatures than Goliath, though an empty test run is known to have valleyed when temperatures approached the range of 40 degrees fahrenheit.[2][3]
Trains
This coaster features 8 cars per train. Riders are arranged 2 across in a single row in each car for a total of 16 riders per train.
